Common questions
How do you know whether 03/04/2024 is 3 April or 4 March?
One date on its own cannot tell you. So we ask whether your file puts the day or the month first, and suggest the answer when the column has a date like 15/04/2024 that reads only one way.
Does it understand dates written in words?
Yes. "March 5th 2024", "12 de marzo de 2024" or "1 Apr 2024" are read with AI, which is what an Excel formula cannot do. Numeric dates are read with rules, no AI.
Which format should I pick?
2024-03-12 (year, month, day) is the one every system reads without confusion and the one that sorts correctly. 03/12/2024 is the US habit; 12/03/2024 is usual in Europe and Latin America.
What happens to cells that are not dates?
They stay as they were, like empty cells. When a date cannot be read with confidence we leave it as it came rather than guess.
What if my Excel file already stores them as dates?
We take them as they are, without re-reading them, and only change the format.
What happens to my file?
It is used only for this conversion and deleted after 24 hours along with the result. Only your browser can see the result.
How do I make this happen on its own?
